Welcome! We're glad you found your way to the Hogwarts Interactive roleplaying game! Here you will find one of the most interactive Harry Potter RPG on the internet, and we have some of the most interesting and friendly members you will meet in an RPG. HI holds exciting new features, such as house points, Chocolate Frog Cards, and class registration that were made just for HI. Hey guys! Here are your weekly updates.
phpBB Upgrade
He is working on it. I gave him a final deadline of 2 days from now because it's already been over 20 days, I realized, and that's just too long for
what he originally said was an easy job. So expect that to be finished shortly, although it will take me a while to install all the custom
hacks/modifications (but you'll be able to begin posting right away regardless).

HI Time
So in an effort to make timestamping easier, I've revised the whole concept to include something called HI Time. Please read the
description of this here:

This will take effect now. On the phpBB board, the time and date is listed on every page so that will make for easier timestamping. The timestamping
rules are listed here:

Please note that on the Timestamping page, the sentence that reads, "All roleplaying threads are required to carry a timestamp in the description
line of the topic." is not valid yet. On phpBB there will be a modification installed that has a "Topic" field and a "Description" field. This is
not present on XMB, so please place your timestamp in the "Topic" field with your thread title.
I would like all members to read both of these pages! Thank you!
Quidditch Season
So I hinted that Quidditch would be coming up soon, and the season will begin in the coming weeks. For a little teaser, check out the Quidditch page

Updates!
1. Course Registration
Registration for the upcoming Winter 2008 term is now underway. Please check out the thread in the Great Hall for more information if you have not yet
registered. Registration will remain open until October 18.
2. Calendar
A calendar has been posted in the HI Wiki:

It lists all the dates for the next three school terms. Hopefully this will keep us on schedule and motivate people to be more active!
3. phpBB Upgrade
Since we had problems with our server, and our programmer is also having problems with his own server, the upgrade has been slightly delayed. I've
been overseeing progress on the new board though and it is moving along so I will keep you guys posted. Posting and member registration will have to
be turned off for a period of time (not right now, I will let you guys know when) so that we don't lose any posts or new members in the transfer.
4. House Points
House points will be reset when we switch over to the new forum. That way each house will start from a clean slate when the semester begins, so
everyone has a fair chance at winning the House Cup!
5. IRC Chat
We will be setting up an IRC chat shortly. This will be the first time that I've ever set one up or used one, so if anyone has any experience setting
these up or with IRC chat in general, I would greatly appreciate the help, just send me an owl. The IRC chat will have different chat rooms, such as
OOC chat, IC chat, and will also be home to our Quidditch matches! (Yes, it's coming soon...)

I'm really sorry about the server being offline last night and this morning. There wasn't anything I could do about
it. In the future I will be starting an optional e-mail list outside of the h-i.com server so that if something like this happens
again, you will know what is going on. The e-mail list will only be used when the server is down or other similar events occur that
bar me from making announcements on the forum itself. I will post more information soon about this.
That being said, welcome back, and if you did not receive my e-mail I sent out a few minutes ago, that means you either need to check your junk e-mail
folders or update your email address on the site so you receive announcements properly.
