The summer had kept Bobby on his feet, constantly moving, thinking, and speaking. His mother insisted on their family visiting just about every museum known to the wizarding world. "Oh, Robert. It's a great learning experience! You will absolutely love it!" His mother had said after Bobby complained about not having any down time this summer. So, they went and Bobby did actually end up having a wonderful time. He couldn't deny his love for learning, even if it was during summer when everyone else his age were out with their friends. But who was he kidding? He probably would have stayed at home or at some library pouring over books if he had the choice between friends and his books.
His traveling had been very time consuming, leaving little time for studying the books he had planned to devour that summer. He would try to compensate for that now in this empty classroom. The silence it provided was ideal for the study session he had prepared for. He figured that if he came here everyday until classes began, he should be more than ready for whatever the year should bring.
Bobby had made a stop at the library, promising to himself that he would spend less than an hour in there. He often got carried away there with all of the books. It seemed that one page would lead to another and before he knew it, it was the end of the day. He was successful this time and came out just under a half hour with an armful of hardbacks.
Today, he was practicing potions. It was not usually his cup of tea, so he decided he better brush up on the subject. He had a book propped up against the other books and his cauldron bubbling. He began with the Shrinking Potion today and squinted his eyes at the ingredients a few times to make sure he had them all.
"Chopped daisy roots, skinned shrivelfig, sliced caterpillar, one rat spleen, dash of leech juice..." He muttered quietly to himself as he began to chop the daisy roots as the book described. He read over the ingredients again and to his frustration, realized he had forgotten to bring the leech juice. Then, the door swung open slowly and the creak went along with it. Bobby looked up from his work to see who was disturbing his studying, a bit agitated with himself.
