Scarlett Connory swallowed hard as she set her eyes on the large red expanse of the Hogwarts Express. It had been a while since she'd been on it. Her last experience had been a happy one, but this was an anxious one to say the least. Lately all Hogwarts had brought her was drama, not the knowledge she had originally desired to gain from going there. She'd gained and lost friends. Lost her old love of reading. At one point, lost her will to live. And what would it be like when she returned? What else would she lose?
"Scarlett, Scarlett do you have everything?"
Scarlett turned around to face her father with a blank expression. "Yes," she responded sharply, Scarlett wasn't too fond of her father at the moment. He just didn't understand her, what she was going through. "I do." He nodded, pulling Scarlett into a hug. Scarlett didn't respond, but didn't fight the hug, just standing there in his arms motionless until he released her. "Goodbye," she said coldly turning around and walking towards the Express in complete confidence, though it was all an act.
Once the had stepped onto the train she had the overwhelming feeling she was being stared at, completely paranoid now. She glanced around nervously slipping into the first empty compartment she saw. She stood with her back to the door a moment, letting out a long breath, glad to be alone now. Scarlett took her seat, setting her signature green messenger bag down next to her, staring out the window at her lone father blankly. Her head snapped to the left, towards the door of the compartment when she heard it open.
