Activities to Increase Role Playing

Currently we are experiencing one of our many downturns in role playing activity for various reason like vacations and schedule conflicts. So I created this poll to see if we can get the ball rolling on increasing our activity. So I have some choices of different ideas. If you vote please take the time to post a suggestion. Thanks!

I think an overall board plot would be a great idea because everything would be intertwined some way. I'm not sure what... but...

I also think that individual plots would be a great thing, too. Normally I wouldn't want to take another site's idea, but I think HI needs it. I'm also a part of a different HP roleplay site, and they have a whole board dedicated to plots. In the board they have sections that say whole site plot and individual plots.

The whole site plot is self explanatory. For the individual plots, each thread inside is the name of a character. So for Avery, the thread name would simply be 'Avery Griffith'. Then inside, I would be able to quickly describe Avery and her character and what she looks for in friends, enemies, love, etc, etc. I could make plots throughout the whole year or vague ones throughout all seven of Avery's years at Hogwarts.

Other members could post in other's plots as well as their own, suggesting plot ideas. For example:

Avery Griffith
-character traits-

Friends -
Enemies-
Love interests-
Other-

Plot for Year 1-
Plot for Year 2-
Overall plot-
Etc. Etc.

And someone could post a suggestion like my character and your character should be friends because they're both...

Since Beatrix hasn't been around lately, I guess we can't do the entire board thing, but maybe just put individual plots somewhere in an unused announcements board or something?

I like the ''More planned student activities (i.e. Balls, parties, competitions)'' because we did that loads of other times and those helped!
I mean the Spring Party last year had a lot of people! And the Christmas Ball was also very successful!

Avery, I don't really get what you mean? Isn't that like what we have in the HI Wiki? The whole bio thing? Cause I really don't get it..

I'm not sure I understand what you mean either, Avery.

I really think an all over board plot would be really fun and would give more of a point to RP'ing. I also think we need events too. Perhaps we could debut the all over board plot at one of the events and have something happen. I'm just not sure what the plot would be! However, I think events in general are needed to increase the roleplaying so we should start planning one right away!

Also, I think the Individual Plot idea is fun! =D Ooh, And we should also have Character Applications to submit after we join. They're really fun to write . Also we really do need to advertise. Our last new member joined in February and even they aren't active xD

I'm really looking for a few more enemies for Avery. I also need a few people to join in Avery's group in first year to help her take over the school. Perhaps even someone who would betray them?

I also think that we need to have another schedule. Right now, it's in real time, meaning that if we wanted to RP our character through their year of Hogwarts, you'd have to stay with your one character for SEVEN YEARS. We really can't do anything until Beatrix gets back, but then again, at this point, I don't know if she IS coming back...

But advertising does seem like the best bet. We need topsite lists and everything, the whole shebang. Because right now, no one could be almost months at a time. HI is really losing interest for even me at the moment. Even our so called 'active' members are only on about once a month...

What we need is Beatrix.

I totally agree with Avery. We most definitely need to advertise more. I'm on another site and there's a list of more than a 130 RPGz. We should make up a format and a summary for our site and if you want, I could go on an advertising spree xD
We sooo need male characters because they're outnumbered by a ratio of like 1:4 or something
